For a motel this old, a slight musty smell in the room wasn't surprising. The furniture and carpeting are dated, and the bedspread and blanket looked really old, though the actual sheets were clean. The bed was firm and flat but acceptable, and the pillows were okay. The bathroom is cramped, and shutting the door means maneuvering around the toilet. Breakfast is limited to two cold cereals, oatmeal, and waffles, and the coffee was horrible. It's an average stay, about 2.5 miles from Ashland off I-5. Better than nothing, though there are better options.

The pool was great, and the room was quiet and already at a comfortable temperature when I walked in. The gentleman who checked me in was really kind, and I got along with him well. Breakfast was a bit iffy, but it hit the spot. I got my room right away, and I'd come back. Very friendly place, and I'd recommend it.

The family-run staff are the best part. They clearly care about customers, and they've made me feel welcome with how kind they are. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, maybe with a foam top, and the TV had lots of good channels. Breakfast included waffles, too. They're hiker friendly. Thanks for the rest and breakfast!

We chose the cheapest option, a room with two double beds, even though it was just my wife and me and we didn't need two. The top mattresses were so thin that we doubled them up, and the bed still wasn't very comfortable. The motel was clean, with no sticky floors, and the service was friendly. It's close to the interstate. I'd probably stay again if I were nearby and trying to keep costs down.

We went to Econo Lodge at the last minute after a reservation mix-up at another hotel. It was the only place in town with a vacancy late at night, and I understand why now. I mistakenly took two rooms for my family of four at the front desk, then realized upstairs that one room with two queen beds was enough. I went straight back down to cancel the second room. It was 10pm, the rooms were available, and I didn't think canceling would cause them a loss. The owner got extremely defensive. While I was calmly talking to him, he walked away and went into a separate building, where he hid from me. He'd charged the full amount up front, so I accepted that I wasn't getting my money back. I couldn't even buy my eight year old son water because the vending machine wouldn't take dollars, and the owner had disappeared so I couldn't get change. Completely cowardly and unethical. Stay away from this place.
