We had a great time staying in a clean, comfortable three-bedroom house with two bathrooms. The full kitchen was especially useful for our big family, since we eat a lot. We rented a pontoon for three days and two nights, cruised the river, and boated to a spring. The staff were friendly and helped us use the boat ramp and rental options. The place has boat docks too, so it has a fish camp kind of feel. One issue in our house was the shower door, which wouldn’t shut properly and let water onto the floor. They knew about it and may have fixed it by now. The office building was being renovated while we were there, so some things may have changed.
The three-bedroom place gave our whole family plenty of room to sleep, cook, eat, and play games together. It had lots of towels, a coffee maker and coffee, a washer and dryer, and good AC. We rented a pontoon and spent the day at Silver Glen. The woman in the office was such a sweetheart. It was a fun family meetup for grandparents, grandkids, and everyone else. We’ll be back.
The boat outing to silver Glen springs was a blast, and the staff helped us launch and dock the boat when we returned. They explained how to use it and gave us a map so we wouldn’t get lost. Fuel for the day came to just $30, which seemed reasonable, though I hadn’t known what it would cost. I rented the boat for Saturday and stayed Friday through Monday in fishing cabin #301. I loved how close the cabin was to the water, and the screened porch out front was great. There’s a very friendly cat roaming around. It belongs to the employees, who take good care of it. The staff were all so welcoming. My family loved our time on the boat, and I really enjoyed the cabin. I’ll be back. Thanks, Castaway team, for a lovely weekend, and a shout-out to R+L crew!
We had lunch by the water, blackened grouper sandwich and wings. The setting had just the small-town river feel we wanted.
We took a pontoon out to Silver Glen Run with our group of nine. It was in great shape, with comfortable seating, storage, a ladder, and a cover. We inflated our floats, tied them to the boat, and floated around at the springs. We only went there and back, so refueling cost $35. No complaints, and I’d rent from this place again when I’m in the area.
