Guest reviews

I have a lot to say, so I have to split this review. Rebecca, Hudson, and the burgundy haired woman who’s usually at the front desk during the day were super kind. Everyone from housekeeping to the cooks stocking breakfast food and drinks was amazing and respectful. My baby would smile and wave at them. Rebecca deserves recognition, and I would’ve tipped her if I could. My mom and I keep our colored hair neat, and the manager lady complimented us at first, so I thought she was kind. Then the energy changed soon after. I was moving into the hotel suite for work. I had two jobs, one nearby and the other in different locations, and staying there made things much easier. On Saturday night, January 10, 2025, I checked in and mentioned the room change I’d discussed with Rebecca. I’d accidentally booked a double bed room without a kitchen, but meant to book a double bed with a kitchen. I contacted Expedia support the first night, and a live agent spoke with Rebecca at the front desk. She said there might be a fee to change rooms. I told the agent I didn’t want to cancel, just wanted the room with a kitchen. The agent said Rebecca would accommodate me so I could have a wonderful stay. I asked them to pass on how much I appreciated her help and understanding, and that I’d write a great review about how she handled a minor issue with care. The guy at the desk was understanding and kind, and I got the room change. A day or two later, I think the manager called and said I needed to pay $60. She said angrily that she’d talk with Rebecca, then hung up. I felt uncomfortable and strongly discriminated against. She should’ve handled it differently instead of calling upset about her employee, telling me I owed $60, warning me not to smoke in the rooms, then hanging up. I don’t smoke, and I’m very cautious because I have my son with me. I’ve seen people smoking and smelled it, but that’s not my place or business. Hearing all that from her and getting hung up on felt really disrespectful. I went downstairs and asked about the $60. She said I was meant to pay extra for the room with the kitchen. I respected that, even though I thought it had been settled the night before, but apparently it hadn’t been passed on to the manager. Since I was told the hotel policy, I paid the extra $60. I feel it should’ve been left alone, as it was my first time and I didn’t know, and Rebecca was just trying to make a customer happy. One night after work I went to my room to rest, then came downstairs around 4 pm to extend my stay. Hudson, another great employee, told me the price. I said I’d come back with my card because I’d paid cash before. When I returned with my debit card, the manager was right behind Hudson, hovering over his shoulder. I thought nothing of it, just that she was doing her job. I said, “Oops, I forgot to unlock my card,” which I do from time to time because I forget about subscriptions I never use and have a lot to go through. She was quiet for a minute, then whispered something to Hudson. I overheard her talking about a guest in another room. Even though this isn’t a hospital, disclosing a guest’s private business seems inappropriate.
We stayed five hours, then packed up and left. The room was absolutely disgusting: stained chairs, lint under the pillowcase, punch marks in the fridge, a dishwasher missing its bottom piece, and spit in the shower. I have a strong cat allergy and couldn’t stop reacting in the room. It smelled like a petting zoo, and the hotel itself had a weird smell, like they were covering up animal odors. I felt watched in the room, and the connecting door was unlocked, which felt very unsafe. The price I paid felt like robbery. The location was horrible, with nothing to eat nearby and only a gas station in view. There were too many random suspicious people walking around at night, and I could never find a bellhop. The front desk guy was a jerk. Don’t stay here.
I liked the spacious bathroom, with its comfortable sloped bath, and had a great view of the city and mountains. The room had a nice large bed and was clean. The room carpet was fine, though the hallway carpet wasn’t nice. The hotel must have been great in its day, with spacious rooms and really nice, sturdy older furniture.
We checked in, saw how dirty and run down the hotel felt, and left to book somewhere else. The hallway carpet was filthy, and although the bed looked clean, the room was old, outdated, and not clean. The bathroom floors looked dirty and old too. We left the room keys there and walked out. The photos and reviews were misleading. I felt like it was a pay by the hour hotel. Don’t book here, go somewhere else and save your money.
The front desk guy gave excellent service, and the beds, mattresses, pillows, and blankets smelled and looked clean. We paid $90 on a Saturday, plus a $100 refundable deposit. But the carpets were very dirty throughout the hotel, in the hallways and even our room, as if they hadn’t been washed in years. The elevator shakes for a couple seconds when it reaches your floor.
