Motel 6 Astoria, OR

The man at check-in was very nice and helpful, especially after I’d had an awful day at work. That was the one good interaction. The room smelled bad, had holes in the bathroom door, and the ceiling looked questionable, though I was only there to sleep. The next morning I pulled up to the main office in my work van because I was in town for work. As soon as I got out, the morning staff member came out yelling at me for parking there. She said her spots were for paying customers, not construction vehicles. I told her I was a customer staying there, but she kept an awful attitude. She should change it before jumping to conclusions. Awful customer service. I’ll never stay there again, I’d rather sleep in my work van.

For a budget motel, you get what you pay for, maybe a little more. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. There’s a nice view of the bridge from the back, and the location is convenient, with a couple of good restaurants and bars just a few blocks away.

The price is fair compared with other places, and the motel’s back side has a nice view of the Megler bridge. The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable, though. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom, the walls were very thin so you could sometimes hear people talking, and the curtains didn’t fully block the light from the window.

The room here was very, very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There were no pee stains on the mattress cover, unlike at the Lincoln city location, where they seem to think that’s normal. Sadly, I’ve heard others say the same about that place. We’d spent three awful nights at the Lincoln city motel 6, which was filthy and smelled like dog. This place is AMAZING. Stay here, it’s 100% better than Lincoln city.
