Norblad Hotel

Super cute, right next to Ft George Brewery. The hotel towels are the softest you’ll ever use! Our suite had a private bathroom. There’s no TV, but you can play records in the lobby. Would highly recommend.

Our room was great, with a super cool suspended pod chair, a very comfortable bed, and lovely pillows and bedding. The hotel was comfortable, stylish, and super queer-friendly. Wi-Fi was fast, so we watched the Goonies without any trouble, of course. Staff greeted us warmly at the front desk and gave us helpful suggestions for places to see around town. Astoria blew our socks off, and the Norblad was a big part of that. It’s in a great spot for walking around, with lots of good food and drink options nearby. This place was a total gem on our long road trip, which included a lot of busts.

I’ve stayed here twice on my own, and it’s great for solo travel. The location is ideal for walking to everything in Astoria, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms, bathrooms, showers, and kitchen are clean and laid out well. My last room would have been tough to share because the floor was very creaky, though it was fine for me alone. I could hear people walking by and talking outside at night, but earplugs kept it from waking me. I recommend it if you’re after a budget option and don’t mind not having a private bathroom or total quiet.

We came back for our second stay at the Norblad, and it was just as pleasing. The staff are extra friendly, the space is pleasant, and that communal feeling keeps bringing us back. We sat in the lounge by the fire, enjoying wine and snacks and the good company of strangers while listening to records. It’s a great place to meet people and feel at home.
