Fairfield Inn & Suites Athens

The quiet made for a really good night's sleep, and the room was clean with plenty of linens. We arrived around midnight, the day before Christmas Eve, but the woman at the desk was still warm and welcoming and got us checked in fast. Everyone we met on staff was pleasant, and the breakfast bar had lots of options, including inclusive choices. This little Athens gem worked so well that I booked it for our return trip.

Being only about six minutes from Ohio University was handy, and there are places to eat and shop nearby. I got an early check-in, and when an issue came up with my room, staff sorted it out quickly. The rooms were clean and the breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from. Most of the hotel was quiet, though the two rooms beside mine kept slamming their doors all night, so I barely slept. Even with that, the stay itself was comfortable.

I make several bookings here each year for visiting guests, and often need the staff to adjust details or add my card to a reservation. They’ve always handled my requests correctly, year after year, and they’re so kind and patient on the phone. I think Cindy may be the person who’s helped me most. Thank you for everything!

The continental breakfast was better than I expected, and the kids had a great time in the pool. We stopped here halfway through a road trip. The front desk was really nice, and our room was very clean. The AC wasn’t working right, though. We mentioned it when checking out, and they apologized and compensated us. It was still a lovely stay, and I’d come back.
