Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Athens by IHG

We brought our dog, and the staff were happy to see him and give him pets. There were other dogs around, too. The dog park is beside the hotel, behind the community pool and skate park, and there's a good amount of grass behind the hotel. Food and shopping are close by, with Walmart maybe four minutes away, Krogers about two, and Applebees connected to the parking lot for a quick walk. The hotel also offers discounts at some restaurants, which is a nice perk. The room had lots of storage and a desk, plus a mini fridge, microwave, and bathroom supplies. Water pressure and A/C were good, and the pool, hot tub, and small gym gave us options. The olyptical screen didn't work, but that was okay. Staff were all super nice. The only downside was hearing the neighbors' kids stomping, jumping off furniture, and running up and down the hall. That's hotel life, though, and not the hotel's fault.

The hotel was very clean and in a great location, but the staff are what made it for me. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. Laurie was especially wonderful. Each morning at breakfast she checked in, made sure we had enough to eat, and sent us off with food for our day trips.

Everyone we ran into smiled and spoke to us, and the breakfast team were friendly and helpful. The pool area was clean with plenty of towels, and the breakfast room was stocked and clean. Kevin checked us in and was very friendly, explaining all the hotel details. When our child got sick at 1 a.m., Ashlee quickly brought everything we needed to clean up and make a fresh bed. We'll be back.

The hot tub and pool were great, and breakfast had a big variety. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the whole hotel was very clean. The staff were friendly and worked with us easily to accommodate our service dog. We were very happy with the stay.
