The views are breathtaking, and I’d return just for the hot tub. I’ve stayed here for work a couple of times, then came back for a friend’s birthday. We had a great time, and our suite was perfect and very clean.

The beach location is beautiful, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Driftwood is very dated, and the photos look heavily enhanced. My daughter thought the beds felt so icky she wouldn’t sleep on them, and my sheets were stained. The lobby is crowded with clutter, and the in-room coffee was terrible, with powdered, chemical-filled creamer. The thin walls let in my neighbor’s loud talking and even the sound of them passing gas at 7:00 a.m. I didn’t feel safe for the first time in a stay, because the doors are exposed and the lock felt flimsy. I piled things against the front door so I’d wake up if anyone tried to break in. Very disappointing.

The experience has noticeably improved, and the staff have been more welcoming, attentive, and focused on service. It’s clear General Manager Reginald Marvin is doing a great job leading the property. Driftwood Shores in Florence, Oregon remains a special vacation spot for our family. We love that every room faces the beach. Waking up to that ocean view never gets old, and we always enjoy coming back for a relaxing coastal getaway.

The restaurant coupons were a nice surprise, and both the food and service were outstanding. My spacious room had everything I needed for a really satisfying stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The view is beautiful, with a very short walk to the beach. The easiest way down was the developed path at the northernmost end.
