Kimpton Shane Hotel by IHG

A comfortable bed, a good shower, and a nice room with pleasant facilities made for a stay I’d happily repeat. The staff were nice, and the experience felt consistent with what I expect from Kimpton. I had no complaints about the stay itself. Room 606 could use a little maintenance, though: some bulbs were missing and others flickered.

The room was missing some basic things that would have made the stay more comfortable. The blow dryer and steamer didn’t work, there wasn’t a refrigerator big enough for our food and drinks, and there wasn’t a microwave anywhere in the hotel, so we ended up eating cold chicken wings. The staff were a bright spot. Mrs. Jaquel made check-in warm and pleasant, and Mrs. Beatrice did a great job cleaning our room while I took an afternoon nap. She left the areas I needed spotless. They were outstanding, even though the lack of amenities detracted from the stay.

The Kimpton Shane is a lovely property, but the service really made the stay. Marlon at the front desk was warm, fun, bubbly, and accommodating. After he overheard us talking about a milestone, he sent an amenity to our room as a surprise. Shalita, who I assume works in IRD, delivered it and was just as happy as we were. She was the cherry on top. Thanks to Marlon and Shalita for being so welcoming. We can’t wait to stay with you again and have more cookies. Whoever makes those chocolate chip cookies knows what they’re doing!

I stayed here once for work and later came back for a staycation with my kids. Both visits were great, and I’d definitely return. The staff were kind and the service was excellent. Hatley restaurant was delicious, too. The hotel is beautiful, with artwork throughout and lovely design. Our room was spacious, very clean, and modern, with floor-to-ceiling windows and dreamy evening views of the city. The bathroom felt luxurious, with a huge tub and a great shower. The clean gym had lots to choose from, including Peleton bikes, and plenty of towels.
