The St. Regis Atlanta

Room service was good, but the rest of the service was awful. Our room still wasn’t ready around 4:30, and I waited 10-15 minutes just to check in. The tall female staff member seemed lost handling the problems and a mistake, got frustrated, and brought the line to a standstill with about 10 people waiting. She said our bags were there and they’d find us, but I watched a bellman take them to the room while nobody came to get us. They hadn’t even made our keys yet. Checkout was another mess, with an argument between the bag attendant and the valet supervisor. Our bags weren’t loaded into the car, and nobody called or told management. We drove off thinking they were there, then had to come back 10 miles. I had to deal with lies to get my bags back.

The service and atmosphere were both exceptional, and they offer a free glass of champagne on certain days of the week. Everything felt breathtaking from the moment we walked in. I said it looked like a scene from Titanic, then learned the hotel’s owner had been aboard the ship and died when it sank. The restaurant was the best, and I left feeling the hotel owed me nothing. I’d definitely come back.

The room was quiet in a calming way, and the bed was comfortable, though softer than I prefer. I’m 5'10 and could stretch out fully in the huge, deep tub, with the water reaching over my shoulders. Room service was pricey, but it’s the St. Regis, so I had to try it. Lights and curtains worked through a touch pad. The place has a lovely old-world feel, and everyone was polite and helpful. Parking took some figuring out because I self-parked and didn’t realize there were three different structures. After a long flight, one night here was a great chance to rest and unwind. We’ll stay again.

Every meal I ordered through the room’s private dining service was delicious, and the butlers set the table each time. The bartenders at the St. Regis bar made great cocktails too. I had a Grand deluxe room with a terrace, I think that’s the name. From the fifth floor, the terrace and view straight over the Buckhead plaza were beautiful, right above the garden room. The bathroom was clean and really nice, and the entrance was stunning. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby in buckhead, and the complimentary car service can take you anywhere within two miles. 10/10 service!
