Homestead Detroit - Auburn Hills

The rooms are dirty. Walk around in white socks and you'll find dirt in every corner. The shower linings are cracked, grout is coming off the wall, the lighting is poor, the pillows are flat, the blankets are worn, and the fitted sheets won't stay on the bed. The front desk staff are contentious and don't seem service oriented. They gossip to guests about other guests, and I saw Adam argue with customers. I also heard him make snide remarks about guests, saying, "We won't name names." I stayed for two weeks. At 8AM on the first day of my second week, I went to ask for toilet paper and Melissa immediately said, "You have to pay today." No hello or anything, even though Adam had reminded me the night before that payment was due the next day. From the moment you walk into the lobby, it doesn't feel like hospitality is the goal. There are no smiles or hellos. The one thing this hotel does well is take your money. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
