I ended up moving to a second room, which looked more modern and had less of a serial killer vibe. I like airplanes, so spotting small ones at the nearby airport was a plus. The motel is next to a casino, if that appeals to you. The evening counter guy, who grew up inThe Netherlands, was great, but the later front desk guy had very poor customer service. The first room’s fire alarm battery was beeping. He asked for ten minutes to fix it, though I felt the room should already have been ready. I was tired after a long day and went back to the desk with all my luggage to switch rooms, but couldn’t shut the first room door. Both men were at the desk, and the second guy said he’d changed the battery. We all went back, and the alarm was still beeping. He couldn’t shut the door either, which was satisfying after he seemed to doubt me because I’m a woman. The morning checkout guy also showed little interest in helping or connecting. Maybe it was a language barrier, but he came across as uncaring. The light switch fixtures were grubby, the first room looked like 1972, and there were wall stains or drips and dark spots on the floors. At least I saw no sign of bedbugs. There was also a drug addict in the parking lot looking for “something,” and the drive through my parking area was somewhat narrow.

I felt neither safe nor welcome, and the staff were incredibly rude. They made a racist comment because we’re white. The rooms were awful, really bottom of the bottom, and the beds were uncomfortable. The shower felt slippery and dangerous, and there was a strange smell. Mattresses were piled where the pool should be. There was no ice bucket in the room, and when we asked, they rudely told us to check again before eventually giving us a bucket of ice. The vending machines didn’t work, and there was no coffee before 6:40 a.m. I thought the price seemed reasonable, but after seeing the place, I won’t return to this one or stay at a Days Inn again. Customer service is lost on them.

I’m disappointed in Wyndham. There was no breakfast, and they claimed no Wyndham property has breakfast anymore. The room was filthy and smelled awful, with cobwebs on the ceiling, dirty carpets, and a dirty bathroom. The mattress smelled so bad I couldn’t sleep; when I pulled back the sheets, I was disgusted. The fridge had been moved from under the sink, leaving a huge filthy hole. Outside, mattresses were piled high in the old pool area, with what looked like years of rot on the bottom ones. Filth was piled up there too. Do not stay here, it’s a disaster zone.

For an affordable hotel in the area, the simple breakfast was a nice surprise, and the service was great for the price. The location beside a casino was a little busy, but it was quiet after 11 p.m. and we slept fine. Our room had a fridge, coffee maker, hot clean shower, and the usual essentials. The hotel also supplied shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap with a lovely green tea scent. The hair dryer in our room didn’t work, unfortunately.

The place is okay for what it is, but I didn’t like how they handled my deposits. I had three separate reservations. For the first two visits, the deposit was released right away. When I decided to leave the hotel, though, I was told it would take five days to get it back. Do they use a different financial institution once you check out? I’ve owned companies for 20 years and have never heard of this.
