La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Auburn

Auburn isn't a hotspot yet or a bustling center of WA culture, but it makes a great base for a stay in Washington. I live in Auburn and had been thinking for months about taking a couple of days away from everyday life without dealing with flights or trains. I'm really glad I finally did, and La Quinta Inn gave me the break I was looking for, and more. The price is very reasonable, the rooms are clean and sharp, and the staff are working hard to make guests comfortable. The cheerful, attentive team and sharp management make a big difference. I've read older posts, and every concern people mentioned seems to have been addressed. I'm a big fan of hotel breakfast, and they get it just right. I smile thinking about it. Thanks to Amy, Haley, Jessica, Justin, Octavius, Ana, Lilly, and the whole crew for making my stay pleasant. I hope to see you again soon.

The staff were friendly, and breakfast had a very good range of food. We also used the fitness room and hot tub. Our room at la Quinta in Auburn was spacious, clean, and quiet. We had a lovely stay.

Getting to the highway is easy, and the location is great, with Jack in the box to the left and Denny's to the right. Muckleshoot is four minutes up the hill. The room was fine for the price, though the toilet was so low that getting up and down was hard. They have a pool and hot tub, but the water is only 3 ft. Parking is very tight, and several people parked over the lines. All in all, a good trip.

The lobby was decent and the front desk staff were nice, but the room was disgusting. It smelled horrible, had peeling paint and exposed electrical wires, and people wandering around inside and in the parking lot made the place feel unsafe. I left right after check-in to meet friends for dinner, then came back 3.5-4 hours later to collect our things and check out. We had travelled all day with the kids, and had to find another place on short notice. We never unpacked, slept there, or even used the bathroom, yet the hotel refused to refund any of the reservation. I could understand keeping the cost for the check-in day, but this was meant to be a five-night stay, and at least the other four nights should have been refunded. I'd rather sleep in my vehicle than stay there.
