Breakfast is about what you'd get at a typical continental spread, but the dining room makes the experience. It's gorgeous, with majestic trim, a mantel clock that puts Beauty & the Beast to shame, and a big table where conversation can turn strangers into friends. The rooms have a distinctive, elegant feel, and the historic building is grand. John clearly has a real passion for the inn. The Lookaway Inn is why I prefer a B&B to a hotel chain. Staying there supports local pockets, and the personal hospitality is unmatched. John greets you by your first name and remembers why you're visiting, a small thing that makes you feel seen. If I find myself in Augusta again, I'll absolutely stay here.

The inn is beautifully cared for, full of Southern charm, and thoughtfully designed. I stopped by Lookaway Inn while collecting photo and video content for my travel agency, and was lucky to meet John, the owner. He gave me a warm welcome and encouraged me to capture all the content I needed. His enthusiasm for local travel and hospitality came through clearly. It's a standout property, and one I'd confidently recommend to travelers after a memorable stay rooted in the local area.

A restful stay in a home-like place, where someone else handles the cooking and cleaning. The breakfast was terrific.

Linda made breakfast to order in the main mansion and answered our questions about the inn's history and what it's like there during the Masters tournament. The helpful owner and manager and Linda, who looks after breakfast, made us feel welcome. We were only passing through on a long road trip, but that quiet night in a quaint, historic inn with Southern charm turned into a memorable overnight stop.

The grounds are gorgeous, and the historic inn itself is absolutely beautiful. Ask the owners for a tour and a bit of history about the property.
