The lounge breakfast was good, and the front desk service was fantastic, but the hotel equipment was awful. We’ve been here twice before, but this time we had a dog and couldn’t stay on the higher floor we usually use. The toilet was clogged, so we had to move rooms. There was no fan in the bathroom, so maybe don’t come with your boyfriend. The room AC wouldn’t let us change the temperature, and on a rainy day we slept at 69 degrees. My son’s nose started bleeding. We won’t be back. Bye Sheraton!

The clean rooms and convenient location were the bright spots. I booked the Sheraton Augusta Hotel for a January weekend when snow was expected because Marriott’s site listed a restaurant, bar, and breakfast. None of those were available during our stay, and the email telling me so arrived only after I’d checked in. Those amenities shouldn’t still be listed if they aren’t being offered. There was little to distinguish the hotel from lower-tier options like Hampton Inn or Fairfield. It feels like it should be moved to another part of the Marriott lineup, and I wouldn’t stay again.

Jean the concierge deserves a special shout out for going above and beyond and having a great conversation with us. The staff were upbeat, friendly, and quick to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was spot on, the room was clean with fresh towels, and the renovation didn’t inconvenience us at all. It’ll be beautiful when the work is finished. We had a great stay and would come back if the chance comes up.

The friendly welcome, clean room, and modern, well-designed bathroom were appreciated. Still, the layout of my newly renovated King Deluxe Suite was a letdown. Built-in furniture sits so close to the doorway that it feels in the way, and the cramped, inefficient setup reminded me more of a cruise ship cabin than a spacious suite. There are hooks sticking several inches out from the mirror by the entrance, which seems like a safety concern, especially at night. I have Titanium status and complimentary lounge access, but the food choices lacked quality and creativity, so the lounge didn’t feel worth much and needs significant improvement. With those layout and lounge issues, I wouldn’t choose this property again if the rate were over $200 a night.

Anthony, the maintenance worker, was kind and helped me move my things to a clean replacement room, which had no problems. But the first room was in bad shape, and Nikitta, the hotel manager, made the stay hard to enjoy. The toilet had a poop stain, the shower head had soap scum, there was hair in the tub, and the tub drain was clogged. The TV wouldn’t turn on even though the remote batteries were fine. After I called to change rooms, Nikitta came with Anthony and immediately suggested I must have caused the issues because I’d checked in hours earlier. I explained respectfully that I’d brought in my luggage and then left straight away to run errands. In a rude tone, she said, “come check out this other room and see if that meets your standard because I’m about to get off work and I ain’t about to do too much room switching after that”.
