Hilton Garden Inn Denver Airport

The pool was the letdown. It looked neglected and badly in need of repairs: the water was ice cold, the wall lining was crumbling, and plaster had collected on the bottom. I couldn't tell whether the filter system was even running. I've seen worse, but expected better from a hotel carrying the Hilton name. The room was standard Hilton, functional and comfortable, and we liked the zero percent shower products. Front desk staff were polite and helpful. The gym was decent, with a range of equipment, and the lobby was clean and comfortable.

The room was clean, comfortable, and just right for us, with easy airport access. A Hilton-wide system outage caused a delay getting checked in, but Mariana, the front desk supervisor, was kind and did everything she could to help guests. She and her colleague were superstars. A really great stay.

The fitness center was my favorite part: lots of space, six cardio machines, a cable machine, dumbbells, and kettlebells. The rooms were clean and the location was convenient, and I'd stay again, though Hilton usually sets a higher bar. The staff were a bit rude at check-in. One elevator was out the whole time, and other reviews make it sound as if it's been broken for a while, which feels neglectful. At 5 a.m. the fitness center ran out of water, but staff quickly refilled it, so credit for that. The lobby fountain was flashing a filter replacement alert. When I reported it, maintenance just turned off the light, leaving people with no way to know if the water was clean. They offered bottled water, but I try to avoid making extra trash, so I went out of my way to refill in the gym instead. Changing the filter shouldn't be a big ask.

The airport shuttle was full the next day, so I had to take an Uber. The rooms were okay, but I'd have saved both money and time by choosing a hotel with a more reliable shuttle. The night before, I waited an hour after calling, even though they told me it would take 20-25 minutes. It was 11 p.m. I would've just taken an Uber if I'd known. I wouldn't stay here again.
