The beds were surprisingly comfortable and the rooms were clean. I booked last minute because I needed somewhere in Austin. I stayed with my EV and wish the hotel had charging stations. Charging overnight would’ve been much easier than stopping at a “fast” charger for 40 minutes. Other EVs were parked there too, so there’s already demand. Adding chargers seems like an easy way to win bookings from competitors, since EV drivers prefer hotels where they can charge. Austin Energy even offers customers rebates to lower the project cost. When the hotel is ready to set it up, I recommend contacting the local Texas business Pangea Charging. It could bring in more room-night bookings and increase NOI and asset value.

It might be okay if you just need a bed for one night, but I wouldn’t recommend staying longer. There were crumbs around the bed and desk, and hair on the towels, bed, and desk. I wondered if the room had actually been cleaned or just quickly tidied. The bathtub was in bad shape, cracked and looking unsanitary to shower in. For one night it could do, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

It’s rundown but functional, and the room was clean. You get the basics: a bed, bathroom, TV, mini fridge, and hot water. The property was quiet, well lit at night, and very close to an HEB. I found four dead crickets, which makes me think they spray the units. I’d rather see crickets than cockroaches. The water does feel oily, as someone mentioned in an earlier review. I was in town for a festival and didn’t expect to spend much time at the hotel, so I kept costs down. I’d stayed at America's Best Value Inn in Garland, TX before and knew what I was booking. For short weekend trips, I’d stay here again.

I checked out at 9:30 am, but they told the friend who paid for me that I’d left at 2:30 pm, and that was why they kept our deposit. I didn’t even take the sheets down, but they said I ruined the bed.
