On May 2, 2026, around 6:56 a.m., I got up to shower and found only one washcloth, folded on the sink. The shower curtain had blue stains that looked like old soap or shower gel, and when I unfolded the cloth to wash my face, there was hair inside it. After I got out, I saw hair on the shower railing too. It was disgusting and made me wonder whether housekeeping had replaced the cloth or properly cleaned and restocked the room at all. The rooms are extremely outdated, but that wasn't even my main concern. I went downstairs to report it, but the front desk was unattended and closed off behind a large metal shutter. I knocked several times on the employee-only door, with no answer. Back in my room, I called from the hotel phone and got an automated message saying the desk wouldn't open until 9:00 a.m. Frustrated, I left for my car without my key. There was a wall phone on the way out marked out of order, with a paper phone number beside it. I called, and the clerk said they'd come right down, so they must have been somewhere upstairs. I explained what I'd found and asked for a different room, saying I wasn't going to shower with somebody else's hair in it. The clerk offered another key. He said the manager wouldn't be in until Monday. I asked for her name and number, understanding that he couldn't give me her personal number, and asked him to call and tell her so I could send the photos I took. I'll be sending everything to the corporate office. The second room was no better: hair in the shower and bed, something like red candy on the curtains, and a substance on the floor. Guests should be able to reach staff at any time, and basic cleanliness and access weren't there. The supervisor is at fault. She doesn't have to check every room, but should inspect a few to make sure employees are doing their jobs and prevent this kind of thing.

The manager Elizabeth was marvelous during our stay at Austin-Metro. Her attentive service, along with that of her coworkers, was nothing short of 5 stars. We had a great stay and would definitely come back. Thanks, Elizabeth!

This is a good place for a stay of several months. It has a full-size refrigerator and freezer, plus a microwave and oven. It's cat and dog friendly, and there's a Gold's gym about a 15-minute walk away if you want to keep fit.

I booked through Expedia, but around 3 PM on the day I was supposed to stay, the hotel called to say they were double booked and had no room. I contacted Expedia right away; when they got in touch with the hotel, the hotel denied calling me. I called the hotel myself to sort it out, but the receptionist was extremely rude, unhelpful, and refused to assist. I have phone records showing the call, but nobody took responsibility or tried to fix things. I had to find another hotel at the last minute and was still charged for a reservation the hotel didn't honor. Very frustrating. If you book here, document every interaction.
