Home2 Suites by Hilton Austin East Side 5th Street

Once we got settled in, we really enjoyed our time in Austin, and management made things right after a rough arrival. Our reserved room had flooded, and we found out the room they'd booked for us at another property had already been given away. After a full day of flying, that was not what we wanted to hear. The team managed to turn a room over for us within an hour. The location was good, though we ended up driving or using rideshares instead of walking to 6th. Breakfast was fine, the usual solid Hampton Inn spread. The pool area was great, and though the water was too chilly, we still enjoyed sitting in the sun.

I stayed at the Home2, one half of this unusual two-hotel setup. Maria was such a joy. She made me feel welcome whenever she saw me and remembered my name. Jeddy was great too, and the rest of the staff were amazing. Breakfast was delicious, and I had an amazing stay. Garage parking costs $35, which is still cheaper than most hotels. I'd highly recommend this place.

We're looking forward to coming back March 8-12, 2026, for this year's SXSW Edu conference. Our stay here for the conference last year left a great impression: the front desk staff were wonderful, and breakfast every morning included an amazing hot grill bar. Management also went out of their way to give our group an amazing rate. Please heat the pool!

Breakfast has a huge variety, and the rooms are roomy and nicely furnished. I found the kitchenette especially useful for basic meal prep, with a full size fridge, dishes, a microwave, and a sink. The hotel is very new and in great shape. Parking can be tricky, or expensive if you use the garage. I'll definitely stay again on my next Austin trip.
