Days Inn by Wyndham Chattanooga Lookout Mountain West

It was very quiet, and the beds were really comfortable. The hotel was also very clean and in a handy spot near the highway and Ruby Falls. Getting there in winter might be tricky because it's on a hill. We skipped breakfast in favor of a hot meal at Waffle House. For a Days Inn, I'd say this place is well above average.

The staff and office personnel were pleasant and accommodating, and the location was convenient for getting to anything we needed. Our room was clean and well maintained. The full-size beds didn't seem quite large enough for two adults, so I'd suggest a queen or king. I also didn't feel comfortable swimming because there appeared to be a soapy film floating across the top of the pool. We had to leave two days earlier than planned, and the owners or management kindly credited us for those two days. The place worked for our needs, and I would stay again, especially if I wasn't planning to spend much time in the hotel. Ask about handicap accessibility.

The staff were super nice, and breakfast had toast, cereal, yogurt, muffins, a fresh pancake machine, and microwaveable sausage biscuits. The kids loved the small indoor pool, and it wasn't too cold. It was only 10-15 minutes from the attractions, so with breakfast and the pool, it felt like good value. Our room was spotless: no crumbs anywhere, even walking around barefoot, and the beds were comfy. The furniture felt fresh and the decor was cute. A few things to know: it's an older motel that's been renovated as well as possible, so doors open to the outside and there are no elevators. The toilet area is small, like places used to be. The pool is small too.

A decent place to sleep for the price. The room was okay and the heat worked. The front desk was sufficient, and the parking lot, sidewalk, and stairs were cleared of snow and well lit. It's close to Waffle House, Cracker Barrel, Wendy's, and a couple of gas stations. The dog walk is a 10 x 15 area in the woods. Breakfast was instant coffee, juice, cereal, packaged sausage sandwiches, and a pancake maker, about what you'd expect at that price point. The dog charge is currently $20.
