Hotel Van Zandt

The staff made our event run smoothly from beginning to end. Everyone was responsive, helpful, and clearly committed to making the experience work, and we’re grateful for the care and professionalism they showed. We spent four nights here with our group and hosted a large event. The conference spaces suited our needs perfectly, the rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, and the food was excellent. The hotel was clean and beautiful, and we’d absolutely host another event at Hotel Van Zandt.

Hotel Van Zandt was a terrific partner for our client’s tech team conference of 125 people. We’re TeamOut, specialists in planning and executing company offsites, and we work with hotels around the world. This one stands out for understanding group events and delivering a stylish, well-located experience with an outstanding staff. Nicholas, the Event Manager, and Asa, the Banquet Manager, were thoughtful, responsive, and collaborative. They understood the pace and needs of a tech team and handled every detail with care. Planning felt seamless, and execution on-site was effortless, exactly what an event team hopes for. The property is stunning, with intentional design and a warm, modern feel. Its flexible, polished meeting and event spaces worked for focused sessions, social time, and evening events, with a layout that made the conference flow well. Being in the heart of Austin made it easy to walk to great neighborhoods and dining. Our client appreciated having so many options nearby, from larger group dinners to smaller team outings. We’d absolutely recommend this hotel to teams looking for a well-located property that knows how to handle group events.

We had brunch at Geraldine’s with live music, and the food was delicious. Our server was fantastic. The staff at Cafe 605 were also incredibly friendly when we stopped for coffee. The Double Queen Spa Junior Suite was huge, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax during our four-day stay at Hotel Van Zandt. Check-in was welcoming, with margaritas and complimentary water. At checkout, the same woman who had checked us in carefully reviewed the charges and made sure our credits were applied correctly. The location is great too, right beside Rainey Street and within easy walking distance of plenty of good spots. We’ll definitely be back!

The downside: the gym felt pretty standard for such a beautiful hotel. We were also asked to leave the public pool for a private party, and when the hotel texted to ask how the stay was going, they never answered the question we sent back. The rest of our Junior Suite was enormous, with two queen beds and a separate sitting area. The soaking tub was a dream. Check-in was easy, and the staff were genuinely welcoming. The complimentary welcome drink was a nice way to start. We also loved the pool and outdoor bar, with great energy, drinks, and views.
