Afternoon tea was such a treat, with fragrant teas and warm little desserts that suited the quiet, cozy setting. Breakfast was just as memorable: fresh, flavorful food, including homemade bread, warm muffins, and seasonal treats. Billy made the mornings feel especially welcoming, too. Brandon was a thoughtful innkeeper, always ready with information about Bar Harbor and suggestions for the day. Our spotless, pretty room had a soft lamplight glow, and the hot shower was wonderful after a cool Maine evening. From the warm welcome onward, staying at the Primrose Inn felt like being at home in a cozy Hallmark movie. Bar Harbor has that storybook New England feel, and this quaint inn made a lovely base for enjoying it.

The staff were kind and welcoming, and their tips made our time in Bar Harbor even better. We loved breakfast and the afternoon treats. The inn is an easy walk from town, but far enough away to avoid the worst of the crowds. Room 8 was a tight fit, with a compact ensuite bathroom. It was on the first floor behind the reception desk, across a narrow hall from the living and dining areas, and the gravel parking lot was only a few feet from the window. Breakfast prep starts early, so you may hear it and smell the food. If you're sensitive to noise or scents, or like to sleep in, this room may not suit you. The mattress was firm, and luggage racks would have been a useful addition. For two nights we paid over $1,200. The website hadn't made the room's location clear, and knowing the layout, I might have picked another room or location. Still, if you enjoy charming B&Bs, the thoughtful touches and warm staff at the Primrose Inn make it a lovely stay.

We had a great two-night off-season stay and walked to almost everything. The staff were all friendly, and we loved the cozy room, comfortable bed, fluffy pillows, and wonderful breakfast and snacks. The one small issue was that the curtains didn't cover the whole window. It wasn't a big deal since there wasn't much foot traffic outside, but if there had been, people could have seen in.

We were sorry to leave. Bedroom 4 was lovely, with pretty wallpaper, a fireplace, and a really big bed. The whole place felt comfortable and welcoming, with nice little touches. Fresh cookies and pink lemonade were waiting in the dining room when we arrived. It felt like a home away from home, and we'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a brilliant place to stay in Bar Harbor.

The downstairs area is beautiful, and the location is easy to walk around from. But the room carpets were dirty, and the bedding didn't feel cozy. You can hear almost everything through the thin floors and walls, especially from upstairs. The whole place could use some updating. It has its pros and cons, but I personally wouldn't stay again.
