Yellow House Inn

There’s so much to like here: the room was spacious and clean, breakfast and coffee were great, and snacks and coffee were available around the clock. Patty and Sara were so sweet and helpful. It was a perfect stay, and I’ll definitely come back to YH when I return to Maine. This was my first trip there, but it won’t be my last. If there’s an open room, book it! I’m telling everyone I know to stay at YH. One tip about getting around Bar Harbor: Uber can be very unreliable. You can walk around town, but depending on the time of year you might need a car to see the rest of the island or the park. You’ll definitely need a way to get to and from the airport. YH has a private parking lot.

Sara was such a thoughtful host, and the service was impeccable. The rooms were clean and cozy, with carefully chosen decor that made it feel like stepping back in time. The setting felt private while still being close to everything. We highly recommend The Yellow House if you’re looking for a place to stay in Bar Harbor.

It felt secluded and quiet in the room, even though everything was close by. There’s free parking on site, and downtown and Bar Harbor’s scenic shore path are an easy walk away. The room was large and comfortable, and I liked the cozy reading room with its fireplace. There were nutritious snacks and delicious coffee, too. Get up, grab a blanket, and watch the sunrise, then come back for breakfast and coffee. A really great experience.

We could easily walk to the water, shops, and restaurants, and The Yellow House is in a nice spot. Sara, the housekeeper, was lovely and responsive. Breakfast was good one morning, but rather weak on another when Sara was off. I’d recommend this B&B, though next time I’ll probably look for somewhere on the water.
