Rodeway Inn

We were supposed to have two smoke-free rooms. One was fine, but the other had a dirty carpet and smelled of smoke. The showerhead was held with duct tape, the toilet seat was broken and came off, and there was no shampoo. The first room was nice, but the second wasn't.

I’d give zero stars if I could. I had booked through Expedia, but when we arrived the front desk was empty. We rang the bell and waited, then tried several more times with no response. Calls went unanswered, with no voicemail. After 15 minutes, our only human contact had been a homeless man sleeping on the lounge sofa. I went behind the desk into the security room, which was empty, then into the unlocked, empty housekeeping office. In the hall, I met a woman who said she didn't work there but was there all the time. I went back to the desk, messaged Expedia, and said we couldn't check in. As we were leaving, a woman came out and asked what we needed. When I said we'd been trying to check in for 15 minutes, she said that wasn't true and she'd only been gone five minutes to use the restroom. I told her that was bullshit, and she insisted it wasn't. She said she couldn't refund us because we'd booked through Expedia. Once we were safely at the clean Hampton Inn across the street, I contacted Expedia, and they said the hotel wouldn't approve the refund. Don't stay here. The pictures are fake, or at least aren't from this hotel. It wasn't clean, there was a homeless person inside, and staff were nonexistent.

I've been here almost a year straight, so I've seen the good and the bad since the switch. Mr. H and his wife have really transformed the place into a better environment and are working to make it a new hotel. The owners come every day. I've had some issues, but when I truly needed something, Mr.H came through. Prices are good for the area, too. Keep those good breakfast surprises coming.

The other staff are so nice, and we love staying here. It's a very clean place, and Donna at the front desk is a huge help. The housekeepers are all extremely nice, helpful, and caring. But Greg, the night front desk guy, has been rude to my husband and me several times, and I recently saw him act completely unhinged and rude to another guest as well. When I asked for new key cards because mine once again wouldn't open the door, he threw them at me. They still didn't work, but I was too scared to go back and tell him, so I had to crawl through my hotel window that night. Please do something about this rude person at the front desk. Greg is mean every time I interact with him, while everyone else has been amazing.
