The balcony door was difficult to open and close, and it wouldn't lock. The toilet handle came loose, so I fixed it myself just to be able to flush. The bedside USB ports didn't work either. As a Platinum member, I found the night staff especially disappointing: one woman was laughing on her phone but was very curt with customers and didn't seem to care. I didn't feel welcome at all. One of the worst Marriott stays I've had. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it.

The location is great, and from my past stays I know this is generally a good hotel. The rooms were fine, though the fan was noisy. The gym needed a lot of attention: there was no sanitizer or wipes, the water dispenser was out of order, and there was no backup plan. I expect more from a Marriott, especially since I've stayed here several times. I had to lower my rating because my standards for Marriott hotels are high.

The rooms were kind of nasty, parking was bad, and customer service wasn't good. Be careful with the adjacent public lot, your car may get broken into there. I'd be better off at any Hilton property.

Usually I avoid downtown hotels because parking can be a hassle, but Alex and his team made it effortless over the weekend. I also met Mr.C when I checked in. He's a Baton Rouge legend, and Mariot is lucky to have him on staff. You couldn't ask for better employees to keep this hotel running.

My wife took the kids on a retreat, and I paid for three separate rooms. We found out those rooms wouldn't be refunded even though we weren't going to use or sleep in them. It was for three adults, two teens, and seven children. In my opinion, the booking and how it was handled were very poor.
