Americas Best Value Inn Baytown

We were on our way back to our hometown to relocate after inheriting a house, and this hotel made for a really pleasant stop. The room was so comfortable, we didn’t want to leave. I forgot to take photos, though I did get a video. It wasn’t overpriced either. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The easy check-in and check-out were a relief, and the showers and beds were super clean. After coming in from the heat, it was great to find the A/C already running in a cool, fresh room. We’d come to town for a wedding, but another hotel had double-booked us and we had nowhere to go. They quickly fit us into two double rooms, one ADA, and the prices were even better. I’d recommend this place and stay here again when I’m in the area.

The sheets and towels were very clean, and the place was generally clean, but there are several things they should improve. The fridge still had water and ice in it and hadn’t been cleaned well; the wood underneath was rotting and looked gross. The microwave needed more cleaning too, and there were clothing strings on the chair, as if it hadn’t been dusted. They hadn’t turned on the A/C in the check-in room, so it was steaming hot in this weather. When I checked out, I saw coffee, but didn’t bother trying it. On a work trip, I stayed Thursday night, got a double bed, and was given just one key. Charging $1 for another key makes no sense for a double room. I probably wouldn’t stay there again.

I had a quiet stay for four days, and the rooms were great. The location was decent too, and there were no other problems. But I cleaned the room, returned the keys, and was accused by the owners of burning out the microwave before I’d even left the property. I told the gentleman I’d only used it once, but he said I’d have to pay $55 to stay there again. They were rude about it, and I’m not going back or paying for damage I didn’t cause.
