Tru by Hilton Beaufort, SC

The tea selection was great, though the hot water never got properly hot, so I had to microwave it at the desk. One elevator was out, but we didn’t have to wait long for the other one. I also appreciated the modern water fountain. Our room was clean, breakfast was good, and the hotel was conveniently close to Parris Island for graduation. It was a pleasant stay, and I’d recommend it.

The Christmas decorations were lovely, with a tree on every floor. I really liked how festive it all felt. We stayed one night while visiting a friend graduating from the marines, and the location worked out great. The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable, the staff were nice, and breakfast was good.

Griffin was so helpful in the morning. He kept an eye on breakfast while also handling the front desk, and really went above and beyond. I can’t say enough nice things about him. Is this the southern hospitality everyone talks about? :) We checked in late, and the woman at the desk was kind and informative. Breakfast the next morning was complimentary and good for what it was. I recommend this hotel for a stay in Beaufort.

The location worked well for families visiting their Marines, with fast food places and a gas station nearby. The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas, but the stay had plenty of problems. At check-in no one was there, so we waited awhile for someone to return, and the automatic room assignment option wasn’t working. We couldn’t sign into the WiFi because it kept saying we weren’t valid guests. The room was dim and cheaply decorated, with hair on the toilet seat and a shower that leaked onto the floor. The beds were somewhat comfortable, though they felt well used. Breakfast was just okay, with only a few hot choices. At 5am on Wednesday, the trash pickup made a terrible racket, with lots of metal clanking. The staff could have warned us. If I had the choice, I wouldn’t stay here again.
