Quality Inn & Suites Macon North

The staff were accommodating, and there was plenty of parking. The room looked updated and clean, with a separate sitting space and couch. It had an ironing board and iron, a hair dryer, a small coffee maker, a decent TV, suitcasecrack, a microwave, a mini-fridge, and a desk. There's easy access in Macon, with no highway traffic noise. Pets are welcome without an outrageous fee. There are areas to walk dogs and an outdoor grilling spot.

The room wasn't much better after the desk clerk offered to move us. We left without a refund or discount because he said we should've told him as soon as we entered the room. When I complained about how dirty it was, he basically said you get what you pay for. So I guess that's what $80 gets you, but it still could've been CLEAN!! This hotel is disgusting.

There was no breakfast because it was Christmas, which I understand. I just wish the clerk had told me at check-in. The TV didn't work either, and it needs a Fire Stick.

The owner tried to tell me the cockroach was a cicada. I told him I know what a roach looks like. He offered another room, but I didn't want to stay and asked them to cancel the reservation and refund my card. They handled that right away. When the desk woman asked if something was wrong, I said there were roaches and I was leaving. She looked down and said she was sorry. They know the hotel is infested. Gross. I wish I'd taken pictures, but I was so disgusted that I just wanted out as fast as possible. I'd been driving all day from Michigan toward home in Florida and was tired and ready to stop. The hotel was right off the highway near a grocery store and lots of restaurants, so I booked online. The front desk woman was helpful, but the awful smell in the desk area should've been my first warning. Once in the room, I immediately noticed the carpet was very dirty. In the bathroom, a bathmat was duct-taped to the floor with black grime around it. Then I saw a cockroach, and a roach motel was sitting underneath the air conditioner where anyone could see it. I grabbed my things and checked out immediately.
