Residence Inn by Marriott Beaumont

We’ll be back soon. My wife, who managed hotels for a living, was satisfied, which says a lot. The rooms were nice, the beds comfortable, and the staff friendly and caring. A maintenance man even took the time to replace my shower head, and the GM made sure the stay went well and exceeded expectations. I’ve stayed at several hotels in Beaumont, and this Residence Inn is easily the best in the area.

I rarely leave a bad review, but this stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Beaumont was unacceptable. Dust covered every surface, so I had to clean the whole room myself before it felt livable. For a Marriott, that was beyond disappointing. Housekeeping only came every three days, and staff wouldn’t work around my schedule while I was on an assignment covering second and third shifts. Guest needs didn’t seem to matter. There are no ice machines, and we were told the freezer in our room would make ice. It never produced a single cube during our two weeks, despite being told it might take a couple of days. In the last week, the toilet handle broke, so flushing meant reaching into the tank to pull the flapper. I reported it right away and was told it would be fixed, but nobody came. I asked again the next morning, and we went three days without a properly working toilet. The general manager agreed the dust was unacceptable and asked me to email the issues, but the address they gave me couldn’t receive messages because the mailbox was full. That sums up the poor cleanliness, broken amenities, ignored maintenance, and ineffective management. I’m glad we’re checking out today. Choose somewhere else. This place doesn’t meet basic expectations, let alone the Marriott name.

We were only here for one night. The facilities were clean and good, and breakfast was standard. The oatmeal was a little solid, but still edible. The location was very convenient, though right beside busy roads, and road work was going on during our stay.

The workout room was clean and had a good range of equipment, and breakfast had more choice than I expected with food that seemed fresh. My room was comfortable and clean, and the property looked well cared for. Check-in was easy, thanks to Destiny at the desk. She was kind and clear, and everyone I met during the stay was friendly. I was greeted by several staff members. I’ve stayed at a lot of Residence Inns, and this is among the best. Keep it up.
