Super 8 Motel - Belleville

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the A/C great, and the TV worked. Breakfast was fully stocked, and the stay was great for the price. It’s a nice oasis in Kansas for a few nights while exploring Kansas and the Great Plains, or just to get a hot shower, warm bed, and good breakfast before getting back on the road.

I was exhausted and didn't have the energy to ask for another room or wait for the toilet to be fixed. It barely flushed anyway. The bathtub faucet was held on with masking tape, and there was a bug on the floor. Then I found a cleaning cloth sitting on the desk as soon as I walked in. Breakfast wasn't much better, the OJ dispenser was broken and there was a roach on the floor. I'm a Wyndham Rewards member, too. 😬

The place looks like an old hotel that's had a new face put on it, and there are still lots of little things left to sort out. The wall heater and air conditioners seem to malfunction, and you can't take an elevator between the second and first floors. Seems like loose ends everywhere.

We lasted two hours before leaving, and even my kids wouldn't sleep in the beds. We had paid for two rooms, so I expect a full refund and think this place probably needs reporting to the health department. The rooms were filthy. The bedding was stained, the carpet looked awful, and the toilets wouldn't flush. There was dust everywhere, plus mud, old receipts, and beer bottle tabs on floors that clearly hadn't been vacuumed in ages. The walls had holes and the whole place smelled terrible.
