LOGE Bend

Reviews make this place sound hit or miss, and our stay was a miss. We checked in online without meeting anyone, which would’ve been fine if the room had been clean. After bringing in a week’s worth of stuff and settling in, we found dirt-covered sheets, a bed that looked like someone had only fluffed the pillows and shifted the sheet sideways, and leftovers in the fridge. The sheet didn’t reach the bottom and hung off the sides. They moved us to another room within twenty minutes and gave us chips and bottled water as an apology, but nobody helped move our things. They were kind and apologetic over text, though no one spoke with us in person. While we waited outside in the cold for the new door code, the cleaner who was getting the room ready shut the door behind him, and we had to wait several more minutes. The second room was clean. Still, there weren’t enough outlets, and some things were plugged into extension cords in a sketchy way. Maybe this place suits its brand and your style, but otherwise I’d look elsewhere.

Check-in was easy, and this place is set up so you can go without ever speaking to staff. Everything runs through texting, though there’s a cafe open in winter where you can talk to someone or get something. There was also a food truck on the property. The giant hot tub is wonderful. I like that pets can stay without a fee, but it’s odd to charge daily for equipment you may not use. The fire rings are propane, and it’d be nice if they had wood-burning pits for people to bring their own wood. There are no coffee makers in the rooms, just instant coffee. Our bottom sheet was sideways, leaving our feet against the bare mattress, so we remade the bed. Not a big deal, just strange.

I’m so sad this place is closing. My partner and I loved coming here every winter. It had everything we wanted, including a bar, food trucks, a hammock in the room, rentals, and a hot tub. We’ll miss you, LOGE Bend.

I’ve liked the LOGE idea and stayed at its properties a few times, but after this experience I’m done giving them chances. There’s no staff on site at night. When I got into bed, I found that both beds had sheets turned 90 degrees, leaving big uncovered gaps at the foot. While remaking them, I saw how dirty the mattress was: two different colors of human hair and multiple stains. I didn’t want to change rooms so late, but I was very disappointed. I’ve never had a LOGE stay without some kind of issue, and hoped this location would be different. The fenced dog area was out of poop bags, and its trash can was overflowing with bags of poop. The room hammock had been tied so tightly at the middle that we couldn’t untie it, making it unusable. Of the promised freebies, we had only one of each kind of cup, a bottle opener, and postcards. I sent photos of the bed and a video showing crumbs brushed off from between the sheet and mattress. There was no mattress cover, just a thin sheet. They didn’t reply until I sent another message the next morning. They said the manager would contact me, but nobody ever did, and it’s been two weeks. I didn’t even mention how annoying it was that they put all guests in rooms in one small building despite
