Nash Hotel

The price was very good for the area, and the location is convenient, though it's in a shady neighborhood. Rooms were fine for a two star place, probably best if you only plan to spend a little time there. Service was pretty bad, with poor communication and billing that wasn't straightforward.

Getting around from here was very convenient, and the location is good. But my experience with the owner left me feeling like they were trying to get more money from me. I arrived at 11 pm and rang the bell, then waited 15 minutes before calling through trip.com. It was their fault I had to wait, and I was okay with that. At checkout, the owner said he could hold my luggage at reception until 5 pm, then charge $10 per bag after that. I got back at 5:10 and had to wait at the door again. He told me I was late and asked for a tip, saying it was supposed to be $30. I would've been happy to tip, but it felt like a kind of scam. I was only 10 minutes late, and when they were late on my first day I didn't ask them for anything. I also noticed lots of flies by the trash cans right in front of the always-closed entrance. I don't blame the hotel for the cans being there, since they may not be able to do anything about it. Still, with that drawback, I think they should be more reasonable and generous with customers.

We were only there from 9 to 11:30, and they were supposed to process a refund. Somehow they charged us for one night while doing it, and now won't return that supposedly accidental charge. The place was dirty and cluttered, with a dirty tub and shower curtain. We saw mice and could hear people walking, talking, and having sex in other rooms. We were going to sleep in the rental until we found another hotel. Horrendous place. Do not stay here.

After my stay, I needed help with the receipt, and the hotel got back to me quickly. The price was really low for such a great location. I'd stay again.
