We hoped for a relaxing weekend, but the stay was unpleasant and there were several problems with the property. Photos are attached. The sink handle was broken, and shower tiles weren’t intact, which could have caused us to slip. There were rusty nails, screws, staples, and other bits scattered on the front lawn and near the backyard hot tub. We moved them aside so the guests after us wouldn’t get hurt. These were serious safety hazards, and the host hadn’t told us about any of the issues. The host accused us of cracking a window and charged us $450, but didn’t provide evidence that we caused the crack. We had already shown multiple examples of broken items and unsafe conditions. Without our own photos, we could have been unfairly charged for the other broken things in the house. If you stay here, take video evidence of everything, since the host may try to charge you for something you didn’t do.
