FairBridge Inn Express Billings Airport

The room was comfortable and kept up well. Neil at the front desk stood out, though. He answered my questions, pointed me toward local places, and remembered my first name whenever I came through the lobby. He went well beyond what I expect.

I left as soon as I saw the room. It was unsanitary and in dangerous disrepair. There were loose high-voltage wires hanging from the ceiling and outlet plates with gaps, both serious fire and shock risks. The floor had human toenail clippings and hair, and the bathroom had visible mold and mildew. Gaps in the laminate and peeling baseboards also made the place hard to clean. Getting the refund moving was difficult. I had to explain that I'd already worked with Expedia and that the hotel needed to authorize the release before the process could continue. I took photos of everything and will report the health and safety problems to the Billings Fire Marshal.

The only things I liked were the friendly guy who checked me in and how close the place is to the airport. The room itself was noisy, dirty, and poorly kept. There was hair and mold, cracked flooring, bad paint, holes in the walls, and dirty sheets on a cheap, uncomfortable bed. They charged me $210 including the $100 security deposit, which I think is nowhere near worth it. I'd put it at no more than $50 a night. They also refused to give any refund. I travel a lot for work and this is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

The team's hospitality made Montana a standout on my list of American hospitality experiences. The hotel manager and staff looked after me so well for several days, and meeting kind people like them is what makes a bicycle world tour memorable. Thank you. I was near the end of my North American leg after riding over 90,000 miles through 71 countries. I arrived at Airport FairBridge Inn Express in Billings after Christmas, while dealing with a mechanical problem on my bike. I needed to rest properly and get it repaired in the city. The rooms were clean and comfortable, there was a nice restaurant across the road, and it was the best price in the city.
