After waiting more than half an hour because the room supposedly needed cleaning, I was handed key cards to a room that already had someone in it. The desk then gave us keys to a smaller room and offered a rollaway at no extra charge. I’d prepaid for a suite with a pullout couch, so that wasn’t what I booked. Once we finally got inside, we had to plug in the lights, and there was old food on the floor behind the nightstand. Not what was advertised at all.

The rating this hotel gets doesn’t seem fair to me. Compared with the other local hotels, this was the best: the service was impeccable, the rooms are much bigger, and they have smart TVs. There’s a pool, hot tubs, and even a real waterslide. I had more fun on it than I expected. This would be my first choice, hands down.

The guy at the front was super nice, but the place was disgustingly dirty. There was hair all over the bathtub, dirt on the beds, and old chocolate caked onto the bed skirt. I’d rather sleep in my car than stay here again. Also, charging $5 to use the pool slide? Who does that?

The bathroom door was broken, and the internet kept cutting out so badly that watching a show was pointless. Check-in was easy enough in the end, but it took nearly 30 minutes from when I arrived. The attendant took 15 minutes to show up, then struggled to find my reservation.

There was a bedbug in my room, and I took it to the office. The man working said he’d tell the office and asked me to come back in the morning to speak with the woman there. He moved me to a room on the other side of the building, but it wasn’t much better, and the strong, misty sweet smell throughout the building bothered me. When I spoke to her, she said three people had checked and found nothing. That room is out of service now, which makes it hard to believe they found nothing. I felt like she was calling me a liar, and I have bites all over my arm. I’m very germ-conscious and won’t stay there again unless they make serious upgrades. The staff turnover seems high, and workers I already knew were upset about how I was treated.
