I hope the planned renovations keep the old world feel intact. The gorgeous door knobs, open and beautiful foyer, and vintage rooms are part of what made us choose this place over all those cookie cutter modern hotels. I really hope it doesn't get over modernized. It's a beautifully unique boutique hotel with a cozy atmosphere, cute rooms, and amazing water pressure. The staff were incredibly welcoming. Michelle and Megan were extraordinarily accommodating, and Lorraine, the night attendant, was very pleasant when checking us in after a long travel day. It checks every box for that old world feel.

Great experience. This is the best place in Black Mountain, and the staff are amazing. The M&M combo, two employees whose names I'm leaving out for privacy, are wonderful. I hear they're planning renovations. Please keep them minimal so the hotel's old charm stays special, and please keep it open during the work.

We loved the gas fireplaces for sitting by in the evening. The pod coffee bar wasn't my favorite, though, and I wish they'd provide an electric kettle for tea drinkers. We don't like using Keurigs after coffee pods have been used. The reception makes up for the coffee setup. It's an eclectic, quaint place with a big atmosphere. The historic section is worth staying in for its character, warmth, comfort, and charm. The added-on section is more typical and just okay, with low ceilings and a less welcoming feel, though it's fine to sleep in for a night. Hot water takes a while to reach those rooms and doesn't get as hot as in the main building.

The view here is amazing, and downtown is only a two minute walk away. The hotel is charming and fairly priced, and the staff were so helpful and great. We had a small issue with our room, which they fully refunded us for. We enjoyed the stay and will come back. Can't wait for the restaurant to reopen. Thanks again.

The downstairs fireplace was great, and the hotel lady was very friendly. We had a good conversation with her. The room was hot, old, and had no TV. If you like ghosts, this is a place to hear them! NOTE: they are apt to renovate the hotel.
