The pool was a nice spot to relax after a day out, and breakfast at the restaurant was a highlight, with tasty choices and quick service. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with complimentary toiletries and a stocked mini-bar. Check-in was easy thanks to the welcoming, efficient front desk staff, who also shared useful details about the amenities and nearby attractions. I had a fantastic stay at Norwood Hotel and would definitely come back. There’s no gym on site, but I’d recommend the hotel for its comfortable rooms and friendly service.

The only thing I liked here was that they offer smoking rooms. Otherwise, this place is a hole in the wall, and complaining can get you kicked out. I stayed over a week and a half and asked for almost no service, just trash emptied and towels changed, and even that happened only once. When I finally asked for the room to be cleaned, the tub wasn’t done, the second bed wasn’t changed, and nothing was wiped down. I had asked for both beds to be changed, but housekeeping changed only one because I’d pulled the covers up on the other. I complained and asked them to return and do what I’d requested. Be prepared to speak into a phone so it can translate for them. The hotel wouldn’t extend my stay and said housekeeping didn’t want them to. Breakfast was mostly just bread; the cream cheese was frozen when they put it out, and the juice was gone for four days.

The staff were really friendly, though check-in took about 10 minutes. It’s a little old and rundown, but nothing too wild, and it was good value for the price. I have severe fragrance allergies, so I was glad the place didn’t smell like cheap fabric softener or air freshener the way a lot of motels do.

I canceled right away and booked somewhere else after looking up the hotel and the festival. The reviews had looked great, but I found reports of dirty, run-down rooms and bed bugs, and the positive reviews all seemed alike, maybe written by a bot or the hotel. This was going to be my first solo trip out of town, and I’d booked through hotels.com for the Yacht Club Festival in July. After the trip, I checked my card and saw a charge for two rooms for two nights each, nearly $500, even though I’d booked one room and canceled. My credit card company refunded one room but says I have to pay the other, and told me to contact the hotel. The hotel told them I was a no-show. If that were true, I’d have been charged for one night, $110, not the $220.53 I was charged. I’ve called, left messages, and emailed, but no one has called me back. Don’t book here.
