Holiday Inn Express & Suites Detroit North - Roseville by IHG

*****I got a reply and called the number several times, and sent an email too, but nobody responded, so I'm updating my review every day*** On February 14th I checked into room 432, then went out for dinner. When I got back, I tried several times to turn on the TV while my boyfriend was showering. I called the front desk and told Amanda about it. She said there was nothing she could do because maintenance wasn't there. She offered to move us, but I said that wasn't necessary. She said she'd add reward points to my account since I'm an ihg member, and I said that was fine. At 2:30am we couldn't turn off the light above the TV, even after trying every switch, so I called down again. When I explained the new problem, she got hostile and yelled that there was nothing she could do. I asked why she was yelling, since it wasn't my fault the hotel wasn't providing the amenities it was supposed to. She hung up on me. I called back, and she answered and hung up again. When I called a third time and asked why, she said she wasn't going back and forth. I went downstairs to ask when the manager would be in, and she said they didn't work weekends. I asked her name, she said Amanda, and I told her I would call corporate. I returned to the room and was going to sleep when someone knocked. It was Roseville police department. The officer asked what happened, and after I explained, he said I was being trespassed from the property. The ppl d watched me and my boyfriend get dressed. I was in lingerie and he was completely naked. I believe she gave the police false information. I didn't threaten her life or yell at her; she was the aggressor. I believe she saw that I was black and profiled me as an angry black woman. I'm filing a complaint and plan to consult an attorney because I feel I was racially profiled.

I've been staying here on and off for work for three weeks, and Chiara has been fantastic every time I've dealt with her. She's such a sweetheart and never disappoints. Some of the best staff work at this location, and people are always ready to help when there's an issue. The only thing I'd change is the shower water pressure, which could be better. I highly recommend staying a week or longer.

10-11-25 The fire alarms went off twice at 6am as we were getting ready to leave. A woman I didn't know said it was fine and we didn't need to evacuate, but the fire department showed up. Breakfast was stale and undercooked. I spoke with Chiara, the morning receptionist, and checked out at 10:45 without staying. I told her we'd already had to move rooms and that housekeeping had just been cleaning the first room as if the broken bed frame hadn't been fixed. She said she'd look into it. We checked in at 10:15pm on 10-10-25 and got Room 208. My brother sat on the bed closest to the air conditioner, and its frame was completely broken near the headboard by the nightstand. I told the front desk, maintenance came up, and they said we needed to switch rooms. In Room 214, the towel racks were coming out of the wall, the toilet paper holder was coming off the vanity, the bathroom floor had cracks, and paint was peeling off the walls. I'm very disappointed. I've had problems at this location before, and I refuse to stay at another Holiday Inn.

The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff were lovely. Khadija made sure my kids had good food, crayons, and coloring pages at breakfast, and they had a great time. The location worked well for us, close enough to home for convenience but far enough away to feel like a fun mini vacation.
