Courtyard Blacksburg

My room was enormous and clean, and the staff were super friendly. The gym is actually really good if you like to get staked on the road. The prepaid breaky isn’t worth it, though. Starbucks coffee was a bonus!

The best they could manage was keeping the rooms clean, given their condition. The rest was disappointing for a Courtyard by Marriott, usually a safe choice. The place is run down, and the staff seemed run down too. The bistro was incredibly slow, and I could hear my neighbor’s phone call through the thin walls, including everything his wife said on speaker. It felt like a motel, and calling it “3-star” is a stretch. Construction vehicles took up most of the parking.

It’s conveniently just off Rt 460 on the edge of Blacksburg, near Virginia Tech. Staff were attentive and the hotel seemed well managed. There’s a nice Bistro where you can get a cold beer and simple food. Renovations are underway and are expected to continue into early 2026.

Zay handled our issue with respect and grace. She definitely lives up to the high standard Marriot has set.
