Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Bloomington-Normal West, IL

I chose this place on a long drive because it advertised a pool, but the water was painfully cold. I managed one lap before getting out, and I can’t understand why they list a pool if it isn’t maintained. They also advertise a hot tub that isn’t there. The room needs upkeep too: the bathroom shelf was rusty, and the microwave cabinet door was coming off its hinges.

The TVs didn’t work, and in the morning we found a bed bug on our mattress. They wouldn’t refund us until my husband insisted, and now we have to take precautions cleaning everything so it doesn’t spread at home. The pool was freezing too, even my kids, who usually tolerate cold water, couldn’t swim. Don’t stay here.

Really nice place, with great rooms and staff who go out of their way to help. Breakfast was amazing, and the price was very reasonable. They allow animals, too. The front desk agent was kind and helpful, and Dena was always cleaning or lending a hand.

The heated pool looked fantastic after its recent renovation, and the breakfast had a great spread: scrambled eggs, sausage links, gravy, and biscuits. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were consistently friendly and ready to help. I had a pleasant stay and would come back.
