Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bloomington/Normal IL

We've stayed here two years in a row for a convention and hope to come back next year. It's a great price, and there are handy spots nearby: Cracker Barrel is within walking distance, while Walmart and other restaurants are a couple minutes away by car. The front desk associate was kind and checked us in quickly. As soon as we entered the room, we could tell it was clean. It smelled like the floors had just been mopped, and everything looked clean.

Our floor's hallway smelled of cigarette smoke, despite the no-smoking policy, and the carpet was dirty. There were signs of smoking along with threats of fines. The desk person knew about it. He gave me air freshener for my non-smoking room, then walked down the hall to get it back. It felt like a health hazard to me.

The front desk staff were nice, but this is a cheap hotel, so don't expect much. The room smelled musty, and every TV channel had terrible static and reception. There was no cable TV. The closet door only opened about a quarter of the way, and rain leaked from the window onto the floor.

The rooms were filthy and smelly, with dirty floors, cobwebs, spiders, bugs in the bedsheets, and blood stains on the bathroom walls. Wallpaper was coming off the walls, and there was garbage outside the building. The front desk person moved us to a different room, but it was worse. We left and got a refund. When we complained, the desk person was angry and mad. The hotel is in deplorable shape. Don't stay here.
