We had to switch our beach plans when rain looked likely, and a last-minute reservation brought us to the mountains. I'm glad we made the change. The kids loved the beautiful pool, and we all enjoyed the comfortable beds, lovely grounds, and walking trail. It was also easy to get to hiking, restaurants, and coffee nearby. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived at the front gate. Theresa, Kayla, Matt, and the rest of the staff were kind to our family and our dog all weekend. We didn't get to try the restaurant, so that's something for next time. This is going to be our go-to place for mountain trips. My family was so pleased I had to leave a review, and we can't wait to return to Chetola Resort.

The staff were friendly and professional, and our rooms were clean. We had a nice stay, but it felt overpriced, and my kids didn't enjoy the many restrictions on the property. The rules for pre-teens, including those age 10 and up, using the gym and hot tub seemed especially strict. There are several things that need work for this to feel like a high-tier resort. The children's park is tiny and could use an expansion or renovation. The WiFi barely worked, and it took eight minutes for the shower to get hot. The entrance was another letdown, with all those stairs and no car drop-off or valet. I understand the resort's hiking and natural hills theme, but that setup lowers the standard for me. After five days here for the winter season in Blowing Rock, I wouldn't return.

Ice on the roads kept us at the resort, so it was nice to have the bar with food options available, even though we didn't go in. From our room's balcony, we could see the Christmas lights around the lake, still up for Winter Fest. The room was clean and spacious, with very comfortable beds. It made for a cozy winter stay, and we'd definitely come back to Chetola.

The grounds were quiet, safe, and well cared for, and we felt fine walking around both late at night and during the day. There were lovely walks around the resort, too. This was our first stay at chetola resort, and we chose a condo that turned out to be amazing. Check-in and checkout were easy, and there were plenty of amenities for everyone. We even got fishing poles for the whole group and had a great time pretending we knew how to fish.

The building may be older, but our large suite was one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in, with a great bed and a view. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Since it was off season, things were a little quiet, but we enjoyed breakfast and the tasty small menu at the fun bar in the evening. McKenna was a personable, creative bartender and made the evening even better. It was our first visit to Chetola, and Blowing Rock's charm is all around it, with views, trails, and plenty of chances to relax. The facility is beautiful and well kept. We'll definitely be back.
