Oyo Hotel North Lima Oh Boardman1

I tried to check in using my online Booking.com reservation and was turned away. They said my three children, ages 15, 11, and 8 months, should have been charged as adults. I checked the price on both Booking.com and the hotel’s own site, so if there was an error, it wasn’t mine. I believe they saw my ride, my SIL with her kids, and assumed we had booked for more people than we actually had. I felt highly discriminated against and will call the Better Business Bureau. My $300 was the last money I had for a motel, and the refund will take 7-10 business days, which is extremely inconvenient. Because of their rudeness and inhospitality, I’m now homeless and without shelter. I would NOT STAY HERE!

We just needed somewhere for the night, with a shower in the morning, and it was perfect for that. The king bed and pillows were clean and comfortable, the shower had nice tile, and there was a refrigerator too. It was the lowest priced place in the area and the only hotel with a late night vacancy. I’d gladly stay again.

The rooms are in great shape, with bedding, electronics, and showers that seem like new. The bathrooms are a little dated. Getting there is convenient, right off the Turnpike and near another highway, with fast food places and a good laundromat within a mile. There’s no working ice machine, and the only vending option is soda. The outside makes a weaker first impression. OYO bought many deteriorating hotel properties around the country about ten years ago, and their approach doesn’t include fixing the grounds or landscaping. Here the parking lot badly needs repaving, and some flowers or shrubs would help.

The bed was wonderful, and the room was clean, though I couldn’t identify the marks on the towels. The toilet didn’t work, but it was too late at night to contact the front desk. I couldn’t see an ice machine, and no water was provided. It was just a bed to sleep in.
