I knew there was a YMCA in Boca, but had never been until a friend told me about programs for children with special needs. Our grandson is on the spectrum, so I signed him up for swimming. Libby Moon is one of his instructors, and she’s so patient with him. He’s not a problem, but she keeps him focused, and he looks forward to seeing her. There’s so much to do at this YMCA, and the upbeat atmosphere is contagious. Seeing families walk in together inspires others. They also have family bathrooms, which give younger children much more privacy. Someone at the front desk is always there with a smile and answers to your questions. I highly recommend Peter Blum Family YMCA.

The weight machines are new and have good modern features. There are two really large indoor pools, plus several rooms for mats and stretching. The locker room is old and shabby, with only three or four very tiny showers, and needs some updating.

There’s a big stretching area, and the weights and cable machines are better than at other Ys. The cardio equipment is outdated by comparison, and there isn’t enough of it. The space is bright, well equipped, and set up nicely, with lovely, attentive staff. Coffee and protein machines are a nice touch.

A big thank you to the Y team for keeping this facility in such good shape. The staff are nice, and the vending machines have a smart selection of snacks and sports drinks. It’s one of the nicest, best-equipped YMCAs in the nation, with a great covered pool that’s sheltered from the weather, unlike most Florida Ys.

John really knows his stuff as a trainer. I appreciate the custom workouts he puts together. He uses strength exercises to build my muscle tone and help improve my tennis game.
