SpringHill Suites Boise West/Eagle

The staff were friendly and breakfast was decent, but the rooms smelled so bad we couldn’t wait to leave. The first one reeked of cigarettes and other strong odors. We got a headache within a minute and walked straight back out. They moved us to another room, where the stale cigarette smell was gone, but it was extremely musty, like there might be mold in the minisplit. It was hard to relax in a room that smelled that dirty. We’d never return.

My daughter and I had a good visit from check-in through checkout. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was perfect, with breads, oatmeal toppings, cereal, juice, and coffee, plus tasty buffet eggs, potatoes, sausages, and breakfast sandwiches.

The rooms are large and comfortable, and the hotel is decent. I expected a better breakfast from the reviews, but it was basic eggs and sausage patties, with no potatoes. The air conditioner was loud and blew cold air right at my head. There was no hot water available during the day for tea or noodles either, only at breakfast.

Everything else was okay, but the breakfast had a lot of problems over the three mornings I ate there. The pork sausage patties looked gray and unpleasant. The juice bar was broken, so there were jugs of apple and orange juice instead. The OJ container handle was greasy when I picked it up, as if someone hadn’t wiped their hands. On my last morning, the dining area was so warm I started sweating, maybe the AC wasn’t working, so I took my yogurt back to my room. They’d also run out of eggs and another item. For the ten minutes I was there, the only hot food was little, sad-looking sausage biscuits.
