The temperature and key access problems kept this from being a great stay, even though most of the hotel was good. The thermostat was set as low as it would go, yet our room stayed uncomfortably warm. Other guests said they had the same issue. Getting around with the key cards was frustrating too: you need them for the exterior doors, elevators, gym, and other areas, but some cards opened the room and not the elevator, while others did the reverse. The app's digital key was hit-or-miss on exterior doors and didn't work for the elevator. The plastic cover over the door sensor kept falling off, making the setup feel janky. Other guests mentioned similar card troubles, so it didn't seem isolated. Apart from those two significant issues, the property was modern and generally well maintained, much like you'd expect from a Residence Inn. The room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was solid, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Fixing the temperature control and key access would make this a great stay.

The staff were friendly with everyone we encountered, breakfast had plenty of different options, and the gym was better than I expected. Our room was large, with a kitchenette stocked with dishes and cutlery. It was mostly clean, though one bed had what looked like an old blood stain. They changed it out for us pretty quickly. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything, so you can walk almost anywhere. Good spot overall, and we'd probably stay again.

The room smelled strongly of food and body odor, and the smell had spread everywhere. We asked for an air freshener; someone brought one for us to borrow while waiting at the door, but it didn't help. Several things were broken: the toilet seat, hairdryer, and bathroom fan. The curtain was cracked, old, and brittle too. We asked the front desk for a replacement hairdryer, and I'm pretty sure they brought back the same one. It worked for two minutes and died, just like the one we'd tried to exchange. Marriott, what happened? You used to be better than this. I'm disappointed. The location was decent, the front desk was friendly, and breakfast was OK. That's about all the positive I can say.

25 Mar 26 update. The stay was pleasant as usual. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was good and adequate, and the service staff smiled, greeted us, and were willing to help with special requests. We had a strange problem when the key card lock on our room door failed and locked us out. Chrystal at the desk and Dorothea, the Service Mgr, handled it quickly and professionally. They replaced the lock and got us on our way. Thanks, Maya, to you and your crew. Great people!

We had to move out of our home for renovations, and as a longtime Boulder resident, I knew this Residence inn Boulder, CO location would work best. We stayed for 2+ weeks, and all the staff were great. The front desk was extremely accommodating and never said no, which feels rare at hotels these days. We stay at luxury hotels often, and staff there used to be more willing to help too. When I wanted to use the grill, Maya said she hadn't been trained but suggested giving it a try. Tess, the bartender, came over to help, and they got it done together. Spider webs and all, it was no problem for them. The pool areas were always clean and dry, with towels laid out on the chairs like at a resort. Laundry rooms and the gym were also very clean. Our room came with a full-size refrigerator, a two-burner cooktop, dishwasher, fully stocked plates and flatware, paper towels, and cleaning supplies. You can't beat the location. Good restaurants, grocery stores, 29th street mall, and the iconic McGuckin’s hardware store are all within walking distance. The University of Colorado is a 15 min walk, and The Pearl street mall is a 30 minute walk. Shout out to Logan, Crystal, Maya, Tess, Calynn, the overnight guy, and all the breakfast staff and housekeepers. You're all doing a great job!!
