We checked in around 10pm and were met by an overpowering smell, like strong laundry detergent or air freshener, almost like Febreze. The window only cracked open a little, so airing it out didn’t help much. The manager came up after we went to the desk and agreed the smell was strong. We were told the room had been cleaned late because we arrived late. There was also a lingering old urine smell overnight. Since the hotel allows pets, I wondered whether it had been cleaned properly after a pet stayed there. We were told it was fully booked and couldn’t move rooms, so we spent the night with those fumes and I barely slept. When we raised it again, the offer was 2,500 points, which didn’t come close to making up for the experience. It felt like both cleanliness and management had failed. Check your room when you arrive. Nobody should have to breathe those overpowering odors all night.

From booking through checkout, everything was easy. GM AJ was courteous and kind, and made sure my stay went smoothly. The front desk women were great too, though I can’t remember their names. The breakfast ladies always had a smile and a good morning for me. Daisy, my housekeeper, was incredible and took care of every need. I’d give the whole team 10 stars if I could. Thank you, TPS!

At 11pm, after a horrific day, we were desperately trying to find a room. A local event meant there was no vacancy in the city or nearby areas. Other hotels gave us an abrupt “can’t help you,” but Dwayne took time to find a solution and came to our rescue. He was incredibly kind and accommodating. I can’t put into words how much we appreciated him. Because of Dwayne, this is the only hotel I’ll stay at and recommend from now on. Thank you so much, Dwayne!

This is usually my go-to hotel when I visit Anna Maria Island, and I’m an Elite Marriot Bonvoy member. This time, though, there was a lot of maintenance lacking, and I wasn’t happy with the visit. Most of the pool chairs were broken, the pool had bugs, and the BBQ area was greasy with dirty pavers. Both BBQs were in really bad shape, and the front of the hotel also needs a lot of work and doesn’t look appealing. The broken chairs should be taken away. That’s just my personal view and suggestions as a returning customer.

I was traveling each day to be with a family member at Blake hospital, and I didn’t know how long he’d be admitted. Wendy, the sales manager, kindly let me book day by day and offered a discount. Everyone at the hotel was helpful and pleasant, and the breakfast bar had lots of goodies. The room was excellent, with no problems, and gave me a chance to decompress after long days. The location was great for Blake, easy to get around from, and having Walmart next door was a real plus when I needed something. I highly recommend this place, especially if you’re traveling to the hospital. Thanks so much for everything, TownePlace Suites 💚
