Walker River Lodge

The woman at reception was very nice, and we stayed warm during our March visit. Room number 7 was comfortable, but we’d booked a room facing the river and were disappointed that the vegetation blocked the view and any sense of openness. We would have preferred the open, maintained area. We’ll know for next time. We do recommend the hotel.

I came to Bridgeport to help friends get ready for winter and hadn’t stayed here before. The room was lovely and the service was exceptional. I could walk to my commitments in town, and there was a restaurant nearby. The river view from the back was breathtaking. Highly recommend this spot, and thank you, Roxanne, you truly are a star!

I liked being able to step out the back onto the lawn and look at the river and mountains. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my stay, and my room was clean and comfortable. There’s a laid-back, rustic feel to the place, with BBQs, picnic tables, and lots of outdoor space, so it feels like more than a motel. It’s a great base for fishing, hiking, and day trips to the lakes around Bridgeport. I had a great stay at Walker River Lodge.

Roxanne, the manager, is great, and her yellow lab Rocky is adorable. Our room was clean and well equipped, and there are a decent number of places to eat in town. We stayed two nights in September 2025 for hiking and a trip to Bodie. We’ll be back next spring and summer.
