The staff were genuinely friendly, and the overnight worker even came out to greet and pet my dog. The room and property were another story. There was trash behind the TV stand and bedside table, loose tobacco in every drawer, and mud in the tub. The toilet still had paper in it, the light fixture looked burned, and the beds seemed made without anything else being cleaned. Smoke detectors weren't connected, just wires sticking out of the wall. The phone was disconnected and the outlet cover had been torn off. As we checked out, police and the fire marshal arrived to investigate health and fire issues in the building. Nice people, but the place itself was in awful shape.

We arrived around 1 AM after a concert. The clerk offered to let us see the room before confirming the reservation, but I declined because I was exhausted. We didn't use the shower: it was filthy, had broken fixtures, and smelled like urine. The carpet was so bad I kept my shoes on; the bedding was stained and had cigarette burns, so we slept in our clothes. There were dirty walls, missing knobs on the AC and microwave, and no phone or trash can. We had two towels. When I complained to the same clerk in the morning, he grinned and said he couldn't do anything, adding that this was why he asked whether people wanted to inspect rooms first. I would give it minus five stars if the rating system allowed it. Avoid this place.

I only ended up here because of a leaking pipe at home, and they still took a $25 damage deposit. The room was already in rough shape: only one drawer worked, the microwave was split on the side, and the refrigerator looked as if it had a bullet hole and made strange noises at night. There were four of us but just one set of towels. When we asked for more, he brought two hand towels and said we could only get two, even though we needed bath and face towels. We had one bath towel and no face towels, and he didn't seem to care. The door wouldn't lock, and she told us to use the room key to lock it from outside. Two lamps had no bulbs, the room was very hot, and the AC barely helped. TV reception was poor on many channels, though HBO and some other cable channels were available. The website listed a radio and coffee pot, but neither was there. Morning coffee was weak, there were no cups or spoons, only one creamer packet and no sugar. We also had one hanger and no bathroom floor mat. It was only $40, so I wasn't expecting the Ritz. Still, working lights, enough towels, decent air, and customer service would've been nice. I probably won't stay again.

The room had a leaking fridge that left the carpet wet all the way to the sink, and the sink had no handle. There wasn't a washcloth either. I was quoted $55 plus tax by phone, but the total came to $71.58. Nobody told me to inspect the room before settling in. The person cleaning it should have noticed the problems. I was too exhausted when I arrived to catch them before unpacking. Lesson learned: if you have to stay here, look over the room first.

I needed eight rooms during Ryder Cup week, when Holiday Inns were $400 a night and Motel 6 was still $200. This place was $59, so I knew not to expect much. Still, bring your own bedding, towels, iron, and maybe cleaning supplies. The rooms aren't cleaned and won't be. The shower backed up every time, the TV never worked, and there were nasty stains. The staff seemed sketchy, and the place felt about as scary as you can imagine. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. You get what you pay for.
