It was quiet, the shower was hot, and the TV worked. My dog was happy here too. The view was great, and there are several gas stations nearby. It's easy to get back on the highway, and the price was very reasonable. Everything looked clean, from the parking lot to the room. The staff were friendly and hardworking. Nothing but positives.

I felt safe the whole time as a woman traveling alone. I didn't visit the bar or lounge downstairs, though it seemed to be a popular spot with other travelers. I stayed two nights after a brief snowstorm disrupted my plans and really appreciated being able to check in early, around 1 p.m., instead of waiting in my car in the snow. I had few interactions with staff, but they were helpful when we did cross paths. The room didn't have some things other travelers might want, like a microwave, mini-fridge, or hair dryer. Still, the bed was comfortable, and the linens were clean all the way down to the mattress. I took one shower. It was clean and the water was hot, though it drained slowly and briefly left standing water. I showered quickly, so it wasn't an issue for me.

Under $100 for a quiet, clean, comfortable place. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was hot. The front desk ladies had coffee ready before 5 a.m. when I headed out. Great value!

The Rocker Inn seemed clean at first, and the staff appeared to take good care of it. What really soured my impression was the person at the front desk. She seemed flustered and caught up in her own issues. She didn't smile, make eye contact, greet anyone, or help guests feel comfortable. For budget travelers, you can't expect everything, but being acknowledged matters. I've stayed in much less clean hotels where attentive front desk staff made me feel welcome, and it changes the whole experience. The good thing is, this seems like an easy problem to fix. Don't let it keep you from staying here, but be prepared to keep your distance at the desk. The place is too well looked after for such unprofessional behavior. If I owned it, I wouldn't have to address this because it wouldn't happen.
